Sam Bradley displayed his immense talent as usual at Ronnie Scott's on 6th November where he was winding down his three month residency. Despite there being several technical issues, Sam remained professional and entertained us all with his witty banter in between songs. Having performed several songs including 'Science Prevents Me', 'Not Your Kind', 'Lights' and Little Sister', I was pleasantly surprised by his new composition 'Drifting Away'. The song once again proved that Sam has unique writing skills, and this time brought to life with his new electric guitar, as well as getting the audience involved.

Also in his set list was the great tune 'She Moves Me', which I had not seen Sam sing live before but massively enjoyed it.

If you want to chill and enjoy some lovely lively music for the evening, Sam will give you just that!

It's October, it's absolutely pissing down, it's Tuesday and Van Morrison is in the house. But that’s not why I’m here. A Soulful Sound’s focal point and Ronnie Scott’s Bar resident Sam Bradley is performing.

What’s more... is that Sam has a really pretty appendage (Mind out of the gutter Shack of Soul!) – in the form of a new electric guitar.

Now, notwithstanding the vile weather and the sort-of famous bloke downstairs, the Bar was packed, and it was a joy to see Sam play to the audience size he deserves. ‘Little Sister’ and ‘Science Prevents Me’ sound great with the new instrument but I’m withholding judgment on the Country song that followed.

Esteemed colleague & videographer extraordinaire, Katie H has provided you with a visual reference – so you decide if you like the meatiness of the new guitar or the rawness of his unplugged performances.




This is now the 4th ‘TV Nights’ (nothing to do with transvestites) A Soulful Sound has attended and it’s clear that Sam is becoming a firm favourite not solely because of his musical ability and songwriting but his charm and his sometimes left of leftfield comments! His performances are crowd pleasers and although his music doesn’t fit into any one genre, there wasn’t one person who didn’t enjoy it.

What are the three main ingredients for a perfect gig? The answer is witty banter, an engaged audience and of course, the performer themselves.

These were all present at the very enjoyable gig by Sam Bradley at Ronnie Scott's Bar last night (September 4^th). 

Having been to many shows of Mr Bradley's previously myself, he never fails to keep the audience amused with his hilarious chatter in between songs and how he is able to keep the audience moved with his incredible vocals (yes, they are spine-tingling) each time.

In addition to this, with his equally talented sister Grace Lindsey at hand, provided stunning vocals, accompanying him in their newly co-written song, 'Only Human'. Their blend of harmony topped the night off splendidly. You can clearly see the passion that the two artists have for their craft and this is also very heart-warming to see the support they have for one another and at each gig, whether or not there is one or both of them on the stage.

With these things in mind, I would encourage more and more people who have not been to see this fantastic musician perform, to do so. Not only will you experience real music and real talent, but it will make you want to come back supporting who I believe is a rising star. Mark my words.
